While Shadow Carriage is always here for your event transportation, in this blog, we’ll tell you everything about the Chestertons Polo In The Park 2022. Let’s start.
Polo in the UK is governed by the Hurlingham Polo Association along with, Ireland, and many other countries around the world. As such, it is in charge of the regulations and rules that govern how the game is played. This includes handicapping for anyone playing in the United Kingdom or Ireland, as well as a fixture list. The HPA’s mission is to promote polo in general and to support the common interests of its affiliated clubs and associations in any way possible.
Chesterton’s Polo in the Park, a firm fixture on London’s social calendar, brings world-class polo to the capital. The unique, fast-paced format makes one of the oldest equestrian sports easier to follow for both newcomers and devoted polo fans.
The ultimate summer social brings together fashion, food, fun, and family. You can shop the latest trends, enter style competitions, enjoy delicious street eats at the Fulham Food Festival, and relax. Party lovers can also party hard with live music and DJ’s in the legendary Mahiki tent.
In the tournament, teams of 6 cities from all around the globe play for the Chestertons Polo in the Park trophy. Apart from 3 polo matches on each of the days, spectators enjoyed gourmet lunches at The Hurlingham Club, informal BBQs, picnics, cream teas and the famed Champagne Lanson Garden and Mahiki Bar.
The first day of the event is called the international day. The Frasers England Polo Team will take to the hallowed turf of Hurlingham Park in a thrilling international match to kick off the tournament on this action-packed day. Friday is an ideal day for entertaining clients or for after-work drinks with a twist, or as it is better known, ‘The Ultimate Office Party.’
The ladies’ day is the second day of this action-packed event. It’s a great reason to get dressed up and spend the day watching quality sporting action. You can go shopping until your heart’s content, then unwind with friends in the Champagne Lanson Garden. You might even win the best-dressed contest.
A fitting conclusion to three days of competitive polo is provided on Sunday afternoon. This is the day when the champions are crowned, and we proudly host a fabulous London day party to cap off the weekend in style.
Meanwhile, for those seeking a slightly different vibe, the morning is set aside for London’s largest kids party (children under 5 are admitted free), complete with a pitch invasion imagined by renowned children’s party entertainers Sharky and George.
Hurlingham Park and polo have a long history together. It was first played there in 1874 and has since become the home of polo in the United Kingdom, hosting the 1908 Olympic Polo Final as well as the prestigious ‘Westchester Cup’ between England and the United States from 1910 to 1939.
Polo in the Park, which has been sponsored by Chestertons for over a decade, may attract visitors who notice the format is a faster and furious type of polo, which speeds up the game and brings spectators closer to the action. This year’s event is extra special because it will host London’s first-ever Ladies International Test Match, with England taking on team USA. It will be the first time a women’s international match has been held in London.
With that said, you should definitely visit the Chestertons Polo in the Park this year. The reason we say this year is special is that there are a lot of new things happening this year, which we have mentioned above. You wouldn’t want to miss those, right? Also, a professional chauffeur service would be perfect for your transportation which Shadow Carriage will have available for you at a call’s notice.
