Cinch Tennis Championships: Most Popular Tennis Tournament in London

The Queen’s Club Championships, now known as the Cinch Championships, is an ATP 500 level event held in the middle of June as part of the British grass-court season. As a tournament held in the weeks preceding the Wimbledon Championships, it attracts some of the best men’s pro tour players as they prepare to take to the courts at SW19.

A day out at the Queen’s Club is a must for any tennis fan, so we’ve put together a little guide with everything you need to know about the Cinch Championships. While shadow carriage will take care of other things for you, such as event transportation, by providing an event chauffeur, for now, let’s have a look at this guide!

Cinch Tennis Championships: Most Popular Tennis Tournament in London

Where Do The Cinch Championships Take Place?

The Queen’s Club in central London, UK, hosts the Cinch Championships, formerly known as the Fever-Tree Championships. The Queen’s Club has a total of 27 outdoor Lawn Tennis courts, including 12 of the world’s best grass courts. Matches are played on Centre Court and Court 1, with Courts 2-10 serving as practise courts during the Queen’s Club Championships.

Lineup

The 2022 Cinch Championships will return in 2022, with a very strong field led by Alcaraz, Ruud, and, of course, Andy Murray. Last year, the Brit had a strong grass season and skipped Roland Garros to better prepare for it.

Queens Club will be one of the venues where he will play, as he has done for many years. Murray will be joined by fellow Brit Cameron Norrie, who reached the final here last year. Matteo Berrettini, the winner of last year’s event, will not compete in this year’s event.

Who has previously won the Cinch Championships?

In 2021, the Cinch championship was won by Matteo Berrettini. Due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Queen’s Club Championships were not held in 2020.

Feliciano Lopez, a 37-year-old Spaniard, won both the singles and doubles titles in 2019, becoming the first player to do so since Mark Philippoussis in 1997.

Lopez had previously won the singles title in 2017, defeating Marin Cilic. In 2019, he won two titles on the same day, defeating Gilles Simon 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 in just under three hours before partnering Andy Murray in a close 7-6, 5-7, 10-5 win over Rajeev Ram & Joes Salisbury.

Where Can You Get Cinch Championship Tickets?

The LTA organises the Cinch Championships, and tickets are currently on sale through various websites. The tournament is one of the most popular sporting events in the UK during the summer, making tickets extremely difficult to obtain. To avoid disappointment, get your tickets as soon as possible.

Where Should You Stay During The Cinch Championships?

When it comes to lodging near Queen’s Tennis Club, there are numerous options to consider. It’s no surprise that Hammersmith & Fulham and the central London area, in general, are densely packed with hotels and Airbnbs, so you’ll have no trouble finding the perfect place to stay, regardless of your budget.

The Bentley London is the ideal hotel for a luxurious overnight stay, but the Novotel London West hotel is a much more affordable option.

Where To Watch The Cinch Championships On TV?

If you are unable to obtain tickets for this year’s event, you can always watch the Cinch Championships live on television. Every singles and doubles main draw match at the Queen’s Club Championships will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime UK.

Food and beverages

Throughout the Tournament, spectators can enjoy a variety of catering options on-site, as well as bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Unless otherwise specified, all outlets are wheelchair accessible.

Please keep in mind that the site will be cashless, so take your credit cards or any other cashless method with you. Spectators may take food and non-alcoholic drinks in non-glass containers onto the grounds. You can eat at your seat in the seating bowl, and there will also be designated picnic areas throughout the site.

To Wrap Up:

With that said, you should definitely visit the Cinch Tennis Championship this year. The reason we say this year is special is that the lineup is really exciting and the tournament is going to be absolutely thrilling. You wouldn’t want to miss those, right? Also, a professional chauffeur service would be perfect for your transportation which Shadow Carriage will have available for you at a call’s notice.
