The Queen’s Club Championships, now known as the Cinch Championships, is an ATP 500 level event held in the middle of June as part of the British grass-court season. Lopez had previously won the singles title in 2017, defeating Marin Cilic. In 2019, he won two titles on the same day, defeating Gilles Simon 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 in just under three hours before partnering Andy Murray in a close 7-6, 5-7, 10-5 win over Rajeev Ram & Joes Salisbury.
