Elves Workshop
On the 15th of December, be sure to visit the Elves Workshop at the Grovefield House Hotel. This amazing experience is one that your children will not soon forget. Children can make their very own Christmas gifts in the workshop where the elves work followed by a delicious lunch with festive menu. Menu options include Rudolph’s Red Tomato Soup, Santas Roast Turkey and Rich Dark Chocolate Torte with winter berries. A North Pole Milkshake, mince pies and coffee are also available for purchase.
Winter Wonderland
Head to Green Park in Berkshire on the 5th of December to experience Winter Wonderland. Children and adults alike can enjoy fun activities including the Snow Throw, Santa’s Sleigh Ride, Gingerbread Factory and Special Delivery. Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus in Santa’s Grotto, make a custom card at the photo booth, sample mulled wine and minced pies at The Taste of Christmas and much more.
Christmas Craft Fair
Berkshire is home to the Christmas Craft Fair held on December 1st at the Shaw House. Come and enjoy carol singing, hot soup, mulled wine and tombola as you make your way around the fair, visiting the different craft stalls that are set up by local vendors. From festive Christmas gifts to hand-made goods and treats, you’ll find it all and more while shopping at the Christmas Craft Fair in Berkshire.
Christmas Ornaments Fair
On December 7th, visitors can check out the Macdonald Hotel for the unique Christmas Ornaments Fair. This event creates a forest of sorts where you can shop around for the perfect Christmas decorations for your tree at home. Vendors each set up their own trees complete with works of art hanging on them for you to enjoy and purchase. Each ornament is designed to tell a story and are all 100% handmade. Pick your favorite ornaments straight from the tree and take them home to display on your own.

BERKSHIRE PLANS TO OPEN BUS LANES TO MOTORBIKES
Berkshire traffic officials have agreed a 28-day public consultation before it opens 13 more bus lanes and two more bus gates around the town to motorbikes, excluding main routes around the town centre.
Proposed bus lanes to be approved for motorbikes include Southampton Street northbound, Vastern Road southbound, London Road heading out of town, Norcot Road, Duke Street and Gun Street between 11am-4pm and 7pm-7am as well as the bus gates in Duke Street and Stanshawe Road.
BERKSHIRE DRIVING, BRIDGE MAINTRENANCE WESTBOUND M4 NR JUNCTION 12
The Highways agency has just released notice for planned maintenance on the westbound M4 near Junction 12 in Berkshire. This planned maintenance is on the bridge over the M4 and is set to last until March 2014.
Important components will be repaired on the bridge that carries the M4 over the Reading to Taunton railway line, to the east of junction 12. The work will involve narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit on the westbound M4 with overnight lane closures.
